New Statewide Flip, with wins up & down the ballot

You are viewing The Plan to Win 2020. Feel free to explore our past strategy, or jump to The Plan to Win 2022 here.

North Carolina is one of the most purple states in the country, with a roughly even partisan divide. In 2020 that translated to highly competitive statewide races and opportunities down the ballot. However, in recent years North Carolina has made the national spotlight for conflict and lawsuits around partisan gerrymandering that have skewed representation in favor of Republicans at the congressional and state legislative levels. This year in North Carolina, the stakes were high. And, North Carolinians electing both a Democratic governor and Republican Senator, warrants more research into why and how to mitigate before next cycle which has another Senate election on the ballot.
